The ActivePlan database holds the schedules of accommodation and all information that relates to each space or room. This includes activities that will be carried out in that space, the FF&E required to support those activities, the finishes of the room, the M&E and environmental specification and the CAD floor plan which holds actual room sizes and their adjacency to each other. Within ActivePlan, information, itself, becomes an active element in the design and build process.

To avoid clashes between ff&e, worktops and m&e, ActivePlan has parameter-driven worktops dado and conduit, allowing the generation of complete elevations for any space. This detailed coordination will resolve many potential delivery issues, since installation clashes will become apparent before they disrupt on-site activity.

ActivePlan is able to generate, automatically, elevations and 3D models of every internal space within a building. The various firms involved in the delivery process are, therefore, able to work as a team to identify and resolve any potential problems.

Every version is tracked- and has an audit trail- and can be compared against any other version either from a high level or drilling down to more detail, such as changes to m&e or ff&e in a single space. With individual changes tracked and reported, there is a significant reduction in the need for checking. In this way, each modification, each input, becomes part of ActivePlan’s Active Information.
Issues can be identified and resolved at project planning stage
ActivePlan integrates with project planning tools like Microsoft Project and is able to hold against each element any number of time-based values. This allows the coordination of floor plan layout with the equipment schedule and produces time related schedules that also visually show what will be completed and when.
